The building of the Collection

2007 - today

Today the building is characterized by a wide variety of spaces that are functionally adapted to the widely ranging activities that they host. The first and second floors are dedicated to the permanent collection. The ground floor holds two differently configured rooms for temporary exhibitions as well as a multi-purpose hall, a library, an archive with sections for conservation and consultation, the central office and a large reception area, as well as waiting and rest areas for visitors. The ground floor is also equipped with large storage facilities and a deposit for works of art, as well as with a laboratory for procedures of maintenance and restoration. The adjacent canteen (partly occupied by service areas and equipment rooms) also hosts a small cafeteria.
