An organic body of about twenty new paintings that stretches through two exhibition rooms at Collezione Maramotti, incorporating echoes and impressions of the artist’s exploratory visits to Emilia-Romagna. Roméo Mivekannin mingles ancestral traditions with iconography and archetypes from art history to explore the many facets of the human condition.

The solo show by Dutch photographer Viviane Sassen, presented for the twentieth edition of Fotografia Europea, gathers together works from the last two decades of her career, selected in consultation with the artist. Steeped in anxiety, desire, memory and experimentation, her vibrant images take shape in with a surrealist bent that creates visual collisions as jarring as they are seductive.

After representing her country at the 2022 Venice Biennale, Polish Roma artist and activist conceives a new project sparked by her personal contact with Sinti and Roma communities in Reggio Emilia. Known above all for her textile collages, she works to dismantle antitsiganism and fight the stereotypes connected to Roma communities, by telling personal, subjective stories.
